COLOR + DETAIL
DTG is often used to print detailed or very colorful designs. The best results are found when printing on white garments. White allows the full vibrancy and true hues of the design to show.

why direct to garment
Because there’s no screen (or stencil) for the design, multiple colors can be applied all at the same time, rather than one by one using individual screens, as required in screen printing. Due to very little setup requirements, DTG is a more cost-effective option for printing smaller quantities of garments. However, as the colors are printed using CMYK-style dots of color, rather than solid blocks of ink, it doesn’t provide the same intensity of color that you get with screen printing.

dtg loves cotton!
The more cotton your garment has, the better the results with DTG. Below shows a pink shirt that is made of 100% cotton vs the tan garment which is a blend that contains less than 50% cotton. The same design file was used to print both garments. So keep in mind that your garment material & color as well as your design colors will affect the look of the final printed piece.
